In this film, the leading female is a maid who isn't very wealthy, but when she falls in love with a wealthy man who she met while cleaning a hotel, she pretends to be a different woman, who is staying at the hotel.
Similarly, in our film, the main character's also pretend to be someone else. The twins pretend to be each other, when they want to date a girl, but have other things to do.
This mistaken identity aspect has been used in a few romantic comedies and has proved successful, as it is seen as humorous, which makes it appeal to a lot of people.
However, Maid in Manhattan seemed to attract a more female audience. Our film is aiming to attract a mainly male audience. It seems that the use of a leading female, trying to get a guy, is the reason for this. This makes it relatable to woman who have tried to get a man to like them. To make sure we attract a male audience, we've used the opposite; a leading male who tries to get a girl. This makes it relatable to males more, therefore attracting a more male audience.
