Institutional Logo research

To learn about how logo's have developed, I've done some research on the 20th Century Fox logo over the years. This will help me when considering what my institutional logo should look like.

In 1935 the 20th century Fox logo originated as the 20th Century Pictures logo, with the name 'Fox' substituted for 'Pictures, Inc.'. The logo was originally created as several painted layers of glass and animated frame by frame. Later the logo was recreated for the new CinemaScope process and the '0' was straightened.

In 1994, an all-new, standardised logo contained more detail and CGI was used to create it. It was also the first time that 20th Century Fox was recognised as a new corporation company.

In 2009, an updated logo debuted in the film 'Avatar'

This shows me that companies develop their logo as they become more successful. I can see the ways in which they have improved their logo and can try and use the same methods in my institutional logo.
