In our piece we used smooth transitions (such as fades) and simple cuts to shorten long scenes such as Jordan walking in to school. This helped make the film a lot a shorter and flowed smoother, demonstrating good continuity.
We used match on action twice in our piece, in order to smoothly go through doors.

If we were to film again, I would improve on the setting. I'd make sure that lighting was much better and more consistent.
We planned very well in terms of our storyboard and knowing what shots we wanted and when we wanted them. But we did forget out timing and the lighting of when we would be recording it.
We used one transition in our film, which was when Jordan turned around which then faded in him running (first screen shot above). We only used one transition and just cut the rest of the clips because we felt it fit the style more and kept it face paced and interesting. Having fades after every clip would have slowed it down, making it boring and not have the same sense of urgency.
From this process I've learnt that editing can be a lot harder than it seems, so it needs to be given a lot of time. Also, there are different types of technology and equipment that can be used for filming and sometimes trying to find out what to use where can be difficult, so this needs to be considered well before filming anything.
